Senior Vice President and head of Group Function Strategy and Operational Excellence

Joakim Westh is Senior Vice President and Head of Group Function Strategy and Operational Excellence of Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson.

Mr. Westh joined Ericsson on December 1, 2004. Between 2000 and 2004 he was appointed on the Board of Directors in a range of companies as well as ran his own companies, Absolent and J. Westh Företagsutveckling.

Between 1996 and 2000 Mr. Westh held various senior management positions within Assa Abloy, such as responsible for Group Purchasing and Operational Development. Mr. Westh was also a member of the Assa Abloy Executive Management Team.

From 1987-1996, Mr. Westh held various positions within McKinsey & Co. Inc, and was selected partner in 1993.

Mr. Westh is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Absolent AB and member of the Board of Directors of VKR Holding A/S.

Joakim Westh was born in Strömstad, Sweden, in 1961. He graduated with a Master of Science degree from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1985, and with a Master of Science degree within `Aeronautics & Astronautics´ from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, United States, in 1987.
